QX80 + mods

I finally made some time the other day to install the illuminated doors sills as these things have been sitting in the box since last summer.

Nice I liked it

A fellow QX80 owner over at CA had posted up how to do this DIY; dual USB ports in place of the previous charger inlet. So I did the same as its 100% form and function.

Got the Rear bumper signal leds and also ordered the side projections and some custom mats. for inside. Waiting for them to show up and then install.

Got the front ones changed and ordered second set for rear doors. love them. Waiting for custom set of mats and rear wiper chrome cover,
also got stainless steel mirror finish pillar caps and some small Canadian flags.

I’ll try to get better pics but I put on 30mm wheel spacers to make the wheels stick out a bit more flush with the fender as the wheels on these QX80’s are usually tucked behind them and doesn’t look as aggressive.

Just wanted to post an update on the Grom Audio VL2 CarPlay/Android Infotainment I had installed last year.
It’s been working great and it just got even better. The latest update had the wireless update and I no longer have to plug my iPhone to the USB cable connected to the module.

To say this has awaken the Z62’s potential is an understatement. Even at this present time while I’m still data logging for Joe while he does his magic with Uprev, the Z62 is a beast with some of the tested tunes already. The increased HP & TQ gains throughout the rpm range are most rewarding.

Same here. I did the same mods on my 04 LE many years ago so I knew it was only time until I was ready to do the same for the QX80.

For our current QX80s, JBA has two options.
I opted for the stainless, ceramic coated, JBA 6411SJS.
Stainless is JBA 6411S.

Sound wise, barely an increase in exhaust resonance unless going WOT.
But it has more to do with my current setup that consist of the original aFe Y-pipe, tubing, Walker Quiet Flow muffler and Vibrant UQ resonator.
