Alright, back to reality and looking forward to another getaway soon.

I bought these from Amazon. This version can be wired multiple ways; at the moment, I have them wired in unison to work with the signals/flashers as they flash in a sequential pattern. I wired them to also work with the parking/headlights +12V via the rear hitch harness. They have a wire to work with the brake lights but they'll flash like strobes and I've seen so many of those types of brake light bulb strobe LEDs... just straight out corny and tacky.

So in essence they are additional brake lights. They come on with the parking lights, they go bright when you press the pedal , and they animate like the Audi brake lights do correct?

Got a set coming this weekend.

That is correct. All I did was wire/splice them onto the corresponding signal wires from the rear hitch harness (i.e. left signal, right signal, 12+, ground -)

The only wires I didn't bother connecting were for the brake-strobing effect. IMO, I've always felt those brake-strobing bulbs look stupid and corny so I didn't want that look on my truck.

I have actually never spliced anything into the factory wiring before but am willing to try.

The leds I purchased off ebay have the following wires:

Black wire to Negative
White wire to Brake Light (100% Brightness)
Red wire to Driving Light (50% Brightness)

I assume I would need a positap to splice to the wiring in factory trailer harness?

This might be easier to use https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/233289871270

I believe you can attach the junction box and keep the hitch cover on. I will order it and try.

I assume those Infiniti logo lights are from ebay? They look sweet.

Could you share a link of the rear led reflectors so I can see how it's wiring is supposed to be?

bear in mind these I purchased are SMOKED (you cant tell in my video I put up) but the same company has conventila red reflectors.

looking at the photo you put up of the plug, i doubt it will fit with the cover on. there's just not that much room from the plug to the cover. i looked at the hitch part and its quite expensive everywhere else :) (ebay was 1 dollar but its being bidded on currently) so if you can snag it at that low price on ebay go for it!

i got the logos from amazon but sure you can get them anywhere.

Hi,
from where you bought the switchback turn signals?
And do they need a modification?

Did you connect the blue and red wires in your led or only the black and white?
I connected all of them. in my video you will see the DRL function, and you also see the brake function and turn signal function.

however, the LEDS i have do not "strobe" in the way I have them connected when you press the brake. you see at the top of the video how they act when you press on the brake.

@issac,

I forgot where I bought these since ive had them for a couple years. but if you search "switchback turn signals Infiniti qx" you may find some reputable dealers.

you have to tap into some wiring to get the switchback part to work but its not difficult.

by any chance does anyone have the non OEM (ebay) illuminated kick plates installed?

I won that 7 pin trailer junction kit off ebay for 3.45 dollars shipped :)

What do you want to know about the kick plates? Ive got the Infiniti oem ones but they are all the same...
Sorry for delay. Am on holiday in Thailand but my dealer got back to me saying they don't carry the oem illuminated kick plates in Dubai. If I supply the part myself they can install but no warranty.

The installation looks pretty easy from the manual. Once you pop off the panel near passenger footwell how difficult is it to plug in the harness into the factory connector? Am planning to DIY.

Hey there.

I thnk i had ratio “add a fuse” on the passenger side. Seems newer models have a connector for these things form what I read in the instructions. Regardless, the install is easy peasy. I was able to do it with very little effort. All the pieces just pop off . You will have NO issues!!

Enjoy your holiday and no need to be sorry for the delay!

I'm still on the fence about this given the price.

The OEM ones cost $450 but have the plug installed making it easy install.

The ebay ones cost $99 and need a bit of wiring. Is it easy to tap into the factory wiring (pop off panel, splice wire)?
