I've had my 2011 CPO QX56 for a few weeks now and I wanted to share some thoughts:
Things I love:
1.The interior spaciousness.
2.Bang for my buck (this suv demolishes the LX570 I was considering in these two areas -- room and value).
3.The feel of the leather seats and trims.
4.The Deluxe Touring Package (Wood wheel looks very classy and is designed for a terrific grip)
5.Blind spot monitor. It has become my new best friend. Never thought I'd use it -- but now its my go-to pal for switching lanes
6. The size of the rearview mirrors (HUGE and useful)
7. Power upon accelerating
8. Total, AMAZING silence inside while driving -- even at higher speeds. The solid, smooth, hushed feel of the truck while cruising is INCREDIBLE)
9. Smart Cruise Control. This is another feature I thought I'd never use -- but it is now indispensable to me on any trip that requires a highway ride for more than a few minutes. LOVE how the truck slows itself down to adjust for traffic upfront -- its a little unnerving at first, but now that I'm used to it and "trust" the truck.. WOW!
10.Ease of use for electronics. Nav system, Bluetooth, A/C, TV's -- they all just WORK. Easy to set up and use -- no fuss. Love it.
11. Auto fold center seat. Just push a button on the front console and the center row seats tip up for easy third row access. SWEET!
No love: (All small gripes)
1. The intelligent key open/close buttons on the front doors ONLY. Why not put these on the rear doors, too? Having to walk up to the front door to open the back door for the kiddies is no biggie, but gets a little old after many trips.
2. Speed of the folding mechanism for third row seats. I can go grab a coffee and drink it before these seats completely fold up or down.. zzzz S-L-O-W.
3. No "lock and close" button on the rear hatch. Gotta wait for the hatch to close and THEN I can lock the truck using the small hard-to-find button on the underside of the hatch lid.
4. No auto-folding mirror option. Big truck, mirrors should fold in automatically when parking and shutting the beast down. Plus the placement of the mirror controls wayyy down in the front console (to fold them in, adjust them, etc.) is almost impossible to find without fumbling around.
5. Gas tank size. Yes, as expected she gulps gas like there's no tomorrow, but fill-ups seem more frequent on this suv than on the other huge suv's I've owned.
So far...overall -- this is one of the best Automobiles I've ever owned. Love to drive it, love the features -- love the dealer service so far, too.
IF you are on the fence about getting one -- I say jump in -- you will NOT regret it!
