I just had both of my front wheel bearings fail at about 60,000 miles. Seems odd as i thought they were supposed to last longer. Covered by warranty. My g35 also lost a bearing around 50,000, is this a common infiniti/nissan thing (like the head shields 1 by 1 rusting off the G) or bad luck? seems weird.

First of this ive heard...and both at the same time? very unlikely...

Did you ever have different wheels on?

actually i was at 70100 miles, so its good i bought the extended warranty. no other wheels, and my wife swears she didn't hit any bumps/holes/curbs. the even weirder part is it just happened in one day -- no noise on day 1, and then next day an awful cacophony of clicks and pops. shop said they were totally busted -- in really bad shape. when the bearing failed in my G, it was a gradual increase of grinding sounds. i don't get it. in the end its a free repair, so we move on.

sigh.

So pepe infiniti fixes the bearings and turns rotors while it was there, pick it up and drive out, brake pedal goes to floor as i stop at the exit of the dealer and almost drive in to the street. turn around and drive it back. did you even road test it? they say they did. now it needs a new booster assembly and ABS control unit. On one hand, good to have it fail then and not while on the highway, on the other hand, seems suspicious for to completely fail right after they'd been working on the brakes.

not to mention that they were turning rotors that they just installed in Feb, 9k miles ago, and made me pay for it. that's annoying in and of itself, it's not like i've been racing in the truck. they blamed salt.

had my fuel pump replaced in march.

this seems a lot more like german car quality than japanese car quality. at least the issues in my x5 were more annoyances than systemic (e.g., climate control motors, etc).

Wow... imagine driving 45 down a residential street and coming upto a crosswalk full of kids and the brake pedal hits the floor...heart would drop!! Those aholes didn't test drive it!! freckn rookies!

Guys, even lambos have issues, so assembly line products will have some defects.

Not ever heard of a failure like this on any armada, Titan, QX but it can happen.

Bottom line : cya. Paperwork paperwork paperwork. Make sure actual nissan /Infiniti techs smoke over your ride rather than ya boy from college mechanics. :)

please allow me to vent again...wife picks up car today, brings it home. I get in, the bad bearing noise is gone, but (1) it's not taking bumps right/something is loose..can feel it when driving and in brake pedal, (2) i can hear the pump go on when i push the brakes, and they still feel a little soft but at least they work (3) it squeaks when i turn the steering wheel (they changed PS fluid).

so i'm not real keen on Pepe Infiniti's service dept at the moment.

back tomorrow for round 3. what will they break this time?

Have them get in the car with u so they can experience/hear what you're hearing

oh, they did. I sent them a really long email last night. They're being nice today.

Good luck with your QX.

It sucks when you cannot thrust your dealer...

On my side, I had one front bearing failed at 102000km (61000 miles).

car is still there...crazy. 12+ days out of order for something as simple as wheel bearings.
