What's the theme song for the Infiniti QX56 commercial?

Hello and welcome.

Some things to look at:
-check for any codes at the obd port
-cam position sensor
-petrol pump
-I’d still test the starter and alternator with a 3rd party to make sure
-high pressure petrol pump
-bad ground cable/poor grounding straps
-brake pedal sensor
-IPDM
-BCM
-ECU (likely not a issue but there may be a fault in the software)

I appreciate the response. I've taken it into a shop. Most likely, it would have to be the starter. I'll post on here what I find out.

My 2013 QX56 is doing something similar and I’m curious what was wrong with yours. Thanks.

im having the same issue with my 2012 QX56
Replaced battery 2 times 2018 and 2020, alternator, and cat converter. Something is still draining battery.
dealer told me they have never heard of this problem and can never duplicate.. keep charging me for repairs ($7,000)but, haven’t fixed the problem..

I've been having an issue with our 2011 Infiniti QX56 not starting at random over the last several months. I've jumped it several times and then took it to the Nissan dealership. They said the battery had a bad cell and that the alternator and starter tested good. We replaced the battery and now it won't start again. Any ideas as to what could be happening here? Any help greatly appreciated.

Following your post..
Same issue with my 2012 QX56
Infiniti dealer charged me to replace alternator but problem not fixed..
replace 2nd battery in 2 years..
told me bad cell in battery..
keep jumper cables and charger in vehicle.. battery dies more frequently over time then dies all together..

Check your battery cables at the battery make sure they are not loose. Same thing happen to me after replacing the battery some how the negative cable worked its way loose. I tightened it up and started right up i am sure its been checked but check it anyway just in case.

I'm having a similar problem.
2011 QX56, we bought it used in 2015.
I first replaced the first batter in 2017, lasted two years.
I've had to replace the battery annually since then.
Something has to be draining it, right? I've suspected the AC outlet so we've been keeping it switch off. Any other ideas?
No OBD port codes

thats a rabbit hole. you may have corroded battery terminals or faulty terminals, you could have a vampire drain elsewhere in the car. if there were 3rd party mods done to the car, those could be contributing.

if you dont driver the car often or you do short trips in it, the battery is not charging and over time can damage the battery. if you live in hot climates this will also kill the battery faster.

I had the same issue with my 2011 QX56. I was told to pull out the aftermarket remote starter. However, it still wasn't starting, and now I'm kicking myself for taking it out. Anyway, after a lot of research, I learned it was the "steering wheel locking mechanism". It's a box on the steering column, below the dash. My original was tan in color, my new one is a translucent plastic. It's about 2"×3"×5", or so. Try tapping on that with the handle of a screwdriver a few times, then try starting the truck. If it starts, you'll need to drive it to the stealership, cuz they'll need to replace it. If it doesn't start, you'll need to tow it. I was nervous about the cost, at first, as my research quoted me roughly $1,500 for replacement. In the end, including the tow bill, it only cost me about $500. The lady actually said, "Wow, this is the cheapest Infiniti bill I've ever seen." I suppose, if you're savvy, you could replace it yourself, but you still need to tow it to the Nissan/Infiniti dealership to reprogram the key fobs, as they're the only ones who have the proper computer program. That'll probably run you about $75-$100. Good luck!

I've had the same issues with my 2011 Infiniti QX56. It happens every few months among other issues we've had. We bought it used 3 years ago with only 18,000 miles on it, and I'm so ready to get rid of it. We're taking it in to get it "fixed" tomorrow, but I no longer believe they'll actually fix it for good. Too many issues with this car. No more Infiniti for us. Ever.

I've had similar issues with my 2013 QX56 over the last 4 years of ownership. It seems to happen once or twice a year. I have noticed that the problem shows itself first with a "few" sluggish starts. No matter how long we drive it or keep the engine running it eventually is unable to start itself and requires a jump. Numerous visits to the dealership with the battery being replaced twice and with the last visit the the dealership turned off the "smart" charging system. I thought this was the ultimate fix, but about 8 months after this was done we had the same issue.....
