I just bought a 2023 QX80 Luxe and it now has 1200 miles on it. At around 900 miles the cooling fan started engaging via the visco clutch mechanism. This manifests itself as a very noisy roaring coming from the engine and approx 50% loss of power to the drive, and it does this for most of every trip short or long. The thing sounds like a semi truck taking off. After many calls I discovered that the dealership I bought it from told me this is a "known problem, and we've already replaced 3 of these fan clutch mechanisms on 2023 QX80's at our dealership"!
I had called Infiniti support trying to get them to help. However they never told me that they already knew of this issue, our gave me the feeling they cared enough to make me happy and take it away and fix it. Like many Infiniti owners, I live about 2 hours drive from the nearest dealership, and 3 hours from where we bought it 6 weeks ago. Infiniti told me to drive it to the nearest dealer, where they will diagnose the issue, then they will order any parts required, then I will have to come back and get the repair done. So several trips back and forth to get a new car fixed! I'm not sure the car is safe to drive with this issue. They would come a tow it away, but then they said I'd have to come and pick it up, as they will not deliver the car back to me! I dont have someone to drive me 2 hours to pick up my car! I expected much better service from a so called "luxury brand vehicle" but apparently that is jot going to happen, not with Infiniti!!!
Anyone else having this same issue on 2023 vehicles? Any comments on the support experiences from InfinitI by other Infiniti owners?
All I can say is that this will be the last time I will buy an Infiniti. They could have kept me happy, but they chose not to, and just give me the run around and have me do all the work.
Thanks
