The TPS on my 1996 I30 is the one made under California emission law, new it's $136.00 or so.... i have a stalling, hesitating, dieing, issue after my car warms up. After driving for about 2-3 minutes and i come to a stop, the car idles down and dies. Giving it gas at the start-up allows it to start up, if i don't continue to give the throttle a push for a quick rev, it dies. once i rev the start up i have to quickly click it in gear and if it doesn't die, it lunges and stalls a few times until it takes and drives OK once going. I figure it's a bad TPS, but the one made under federal emission law is only $50, the difference is in the plug in's, the Cali emission TPS has the 2 clip in's, but the Federal only has one,
is there a way to transfer from the Cali style to the federal style?

Also, is this a good assessment of the issue on the car? Sometimes it idles up and down and drops to a low RPM and even dies by just letting it warm up while sitting , it also spits what looks like watery sut out of the tailpipe. Is this oil or could it just be because it has sat for a while, i may try to put a video of the situation up so you can see what is happening for yourself.
