Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

LOL there IS a solution. I pair up devices all the time because I beta test phones.. granted these are not ifruits :D but the process is the same.

ill have to go document the process since its muscle memory to me and I cant recall all the steps off my brain.

Please do post up the process if you've found a successful one. I can usually get the iPad to sync if I do it when I first get in the vehicle. But the QX frequently loses the connection or won't resume playing if I pause the music or want to switch apps (like Pandora to Spotify).

We never had any issues with iPhones in our 12 or the 15. Over the length of time we have owned both we have had multiple phones connected to them. Old phones replaced with new phones. Work phones. New work phones. Very simple and easy to update your phone list. I would highly suggest adding them in the order of most use. For us it was my work phone, then personal then my wife's phone since I used it for work. Then when my wife took over as the daily driver and I deleted my two phones which moved hers to the top spot then added mine back. 20 seconds or less to do this and you want to make sure you do this or it will create a delay as it searches the hierarchy of phones in your system to find the one that is actually available. All of this is clearly explained in the manual although the on screen prompts are fairly straight forward.

I just bought an Infiniti QX56 and have been frustrated. It takes a minute for the connection to "warm up", then it seems to be okay.

I see Android users saying it's an iPhone issue. And it may very well be. But it's also an Infiniti issue. My iPhone has worked just fine on my 2013 Toyota and Honda.

its most likely the bluetooth stack (A2DP) in apple's walled garden that sometimes doesn't play nice in legacy bluetooth systems. the one in the nissan/infiniti audio system is a legacy design and apple sometime do not keep legacy bluetooth codes in their firmware when they push new updates out.

so what you are seeing in normal sadly. over the years i've seen apple users complain about this and some say they don't have the issue.

I agree that there seems to be a lag from startup to iPhone playing through BT, sometimes it can be several minutes. Not a big deal but I too have not had this issue with Toyotas or even Fords.

I have learned to live with this issue on my 12 fx35 and 16 qx80. I use Android and iPhone and the Bluetooth in the car is crap.

...and eventually it stops and starts playing okay. Then sometimes starts skipping again. Playing half-second blips at a time. Other times it works just fine. Anyone else have this problem? Plugging the iPhone into the "iPod" port close to my console works much better, no real issues there except the screen often says "there is no song" and won't get off that screen. But the music plays great. Unfortunately it just doesn't charge well, otherwise I'd just use it.

I bought a splitter to see if it would charge and read my phone simultaneously (without USB instead of bluetooth) and it didn't work. Any other recommendations?

playing music through USB works great for the most part aside from some display issues. Only thing is it doesn't charge as well as through the "lighter" under the control panel.

I bought a splitter so I could charge and USB simultaneously and tried it out, it didn't work though. Has anyone tried something else successfully?

gotta get more info.

what model phone? did it recently get an update?
have you tried another music app?
whats the results over bluetooth? if faulty there, did bluetooth audio EVER work reliably or has it always had this issue?
did you try another phone connected to see if the issue occurs on that phone? did you try an android phone?
did you change cables?
as for the splitter to charge and use usb - list the one you bought. how did you connect it?
the usb port is not going to keep up with the charing demands of the phone, so this is expected.

iPhone 7, updates all the time, have always had the issue though. I've tried android and it seems to work fine. wife's iphone 7 does the same.

Does anyone with a newer iPhone have this issue with a QX80 or 11-13 QX56? Never had an iPhone bluetooth connection issue with any other car, though this is an older one, so maybe something to that.

My 2014 qx80 bluetooth and phone option is not even highlighted for me to turn it in. And it won't read any type of disc either. How can I fix this

what phone model do you have and does it have the latest firmware update?

have you ever been able to pair a phone to your system?

do you have another phone to test?
