I have a 2011 QX56. Had a 2008 model previously with NO problem with this.
Anyone know how to solve a bluetooth problem with a phone? I have tried a Blackberry and an iPhone and both give same problem. If you are on the phone via bluetooth, and another call comes in, it "beeps" once and then sends call directly to voicemail. There is NO option or allowance to answer the 2nd call. Dealer is not sure but says it is designed that way for safety! Makes no sense as my other cars all allow the 2nd call to come thru. HELP!
Thanks

I have a similar issue, but mine doesn't go directly to voice mail. However, I have an iPhone and when a call comes in, I hear a quick beep. But my display doesn't show the incoming call, only the call I'm currently on. I do see an option pop up to answer, which then disconnects my previous call. However, I have no way of knowing who is calling on the call waiting w/o looking at my iPhone. That doesn't sound like a safety design to me.

only way.. is to switch back to the HANDSET and nav from there to the 2nd call... but that means look at your phone as u drive... not to smart from a car maker with cell phone companies right next door and part of their DNA!!

Bluetooth Question

I know this will not help bacause I have a different phone, but just wanted to let you know that your issue does not apply to all phones. I have a Motorola Droid X and have not experienced this problem. To put a call on hold, I touch Switch Call on the Navigation screen. When I want to go back to the original call, I touch Switch Call again and I revert back to the original call. Selecting End Call will drop whatever call your on and revert you back to the other call.

To clarify my issue, Paul1e is actually correct - the button that appears on my screen is to "Switch Call", which allows me to answer the incoming call and it puts the other on hold. I then hit Switch Call again and it changes to the original call.
My main complaint still remains - the new incoming caller info does not display on the screen. I only hear a beep, and I notice a new button for "Switch Call" but the display only shows the current call that I am on - it does not display any information on the new incoming (call waiting) call. I have to look at my phone to see who is calling.

Interesting timing. I just received a call from the Infiniti service manager, who said a new update for the navigation came out on April 20, which he says is supposed to address the issue I outlined above, about not displaying the caller ID info for the incoming call waiting call. I will take my QX in next week and get it updated and see if this resolves the issue. Will post an update afterwards.

Great! Let us know. I'm due for service soon also and would like to get the update if it works.

Took my QX in this week, but it appears I have wasted my time up to this point. They installed the ITB10-066B. The original ITB10-066 was released in December, addressing the following:
"When a hands-free call via Bluetooth is in progress and another call comes in (“call waiting”), there is no function available to answer the incoming call."
The service advisor told me that a new update (revision B) had been released on April 20, which was supposed to address the issue I have regarding an incoming call waiting call not displaying details of the incoming call.
However, I don't see any difference. An incoming call still doesn't display the caller ID info if I'm currently on another call.
I got another call today from my advisor, who talked with a visiting Infiniti rep. The rep insisted that the update should correct the issue and asked me to try another phone. I did, with the same results. I then removed all phones from the bluetooth connection, removed the bluetooth sync from the actual devices and then re-paired. All to no avail - still the same results.
Tomorrow Infiniti is coming to pick up my truck to work on it further. They suggested if they cannot resolve, they may swap out the radio and see if that resolves the issue.
I'm still holding out a small measure of hope, but I'm not too positive at this point that this update fixes my issue at all.
Will update once they determine if they can correct my issue.

They kept my truck for several days with no luck. They even replaced the radio and used several different types of phones to rule out a specific device. But the problem continued to exist. They then contacted Infiniti Technical Support and were still unable to resolve. Apparently this is still unsupported at this time. So I'll be making a complaint to Infiniti Consumer Affairs, as I find it ridiculous that my 2008 Infiniti M35 supported this, but my 2011 QX doesn't. By the way, this is not just on the QX - I read in other forums that it affects the G and M 2011 models as well.

Yes, this is definitely a technical failure. Hopefully they will develop a software fix that actually works.

any updates to this? Just purchased a 2011 QX56 and not fixed on mine.. This is pretty bad.

I don't have any update on this. I even called Infiniti Bluetooth support and they claimed it was the iPhone 4. However, just for information I have been playing with a few other phones, including a Motorola Atrix and a HTC Inspire. Both have the exact same issue - when on a call, the incoming call-waiting call does not display caller ID info on the screen to alert me as to who is calling. Only a small beep and a Switch Call button on the lower right-hand side of the display.

I noticed this bug too - when I call someone via name it doesn't identify if they are 'work'/'cell'/'home' it just shows the person 3 times and I have to 'guess' which name is the correct one - however, I swear that the first time it wasn't like this - anyone else?

I think that depends on the device. All three of the devices I have are synced via Exchange Server with my work, so they have the exact same address book copied from my Outlook.

On the iPhone 4 and the HTC Inspire, no issues. When I place a call via voice dialing for a contact that has more than one number associated, it actually displays:

Doe, John (Home)
Doe, John (Mobile)

However, with the Motorola Atrix, I get the exact issue you describe above:

Doe, John
Doe, John

And I have to guess which one is home and which is mobile. I guess it could put a little fun into the guessing game.... LOL! If I had to use the Atrix every day, that would drive me nuts though and I'd probably end up using the device itself to ensure I get the right contact the first time.

If it wasn't for the fact that they sync wirelessly with the same contact list, I'd wonder about how I imported the addresses. But it's definitely the device or how it downloads via Bluetooth to the Infiniti system.

I have a iPhone 4 sync'd with work - what firmware version are you on with the iPhone?

Version 4.3.5

hmm.. same here 4.3.5, so I wonder why mine is different.

I would try several things. First of all, on your iPhone go to bluetooth (w/o connecting to your QX), delete out the Device for your QX. Then on your QX, delete out the paired iPhone.

Now on your iPhone, go into your Email settings for the account that is synced with work and turn off the Contacts, and ensure they are removed from your phone. Once you do that, go back in and turn it back on to resync the contacts.

Now try re-pairing the QX and the iPhone and see if that changes anything. May not help, but worth a shot.

I had the same issue with my other phone which is an iphone through ATT. now we have Droid with verizon and it seems to work fine...we can switch between both calls no problem.

I can switch between calls as well, no problem. The question is whether when you are on an existing call, does the actual Caller ID of the new incoming caller ID pop-up on your QX screen? In other words, do you actually see the name/number of the new caller as opposed to the existing call you are on.

I get a beep, then a button appears to Switch Call on the screen, which allows me to switch between the two calls.

But it doesn't tell me who the new call is from - it continues to display the caller info of the person I'm currently talking to. I have to look at my phone to see who is calling.
