I'm at 57,000 on my Q and looking at the service recommended at 60,000.
I'll do the cabin and the air filter and the dealer has quoted me 938.00 plus tax for the rest. All the fluids in the Q changed. He says its an all day process.
Anyone do it and thoughts?

Is that including transmission?

Mine is 2WD and I just had mine done including all fluids...only one I'm not sure about PSF though...for $840 + tax...and that included an induction cleaning...

Is that including transmission?...

I understand transmissions are serviced at 100,000 miles. They are a closed system from what I'm told and require special equipment to change the transmission fluid.

I have the 4wd and I believe he said the tranny too. I will check with the service manager
on Friday.

They are closed and do require a special tool but I requested it to be done at 60k. For me that's long enough...piece of mind for me...just had my M in for 60k service and had the transmission serviced on it as well. I have seen oil analysis on these "so called" lifetime transmission fluids and around 80k is when they start to deteriorate. I'll spend the $250 to have it done if it helps me sleep better. I did the same on my GS350...at 60k had it done. After talking to a member on the Lexus forum, who was from Canada, he showed me in his owners manual where they recommended the same 'lifetime' transmission fluid to be changed at 60k...same car, same transmission...

Unless you have an extended warranty if something goes wrong after 60k or 70k that's lifetime to the manufacturer.

I agree with you and will have my transmission fluid changed at 60k miles as well. Thanks for the tip.

I remember my Audi A8 stating "lifetime" on the tranny fluid, and the sure nuf at 90k it started to make a kazoo sound and the dealer though the tranny was fired... I said BS, as he wanted to charge me something like $6-7k for a new tranny.. had them flush the tranny fluid and filter and the kazoo sound went away... dealer was "shocked, that that worked". I said obviously there is no such thing as "lifetime" on any fluid.... he just smirked.

Yep....its sad...this is just a ploy to say that vehicles have low maintenance cost over the first 5 yrs of ownership. As well as so many different formulations of transmission fluids on the market that cause premature failure. This dissolves them from having to change it for free by requiring that you use only approved OEM fluid.

Replace coolant flush and fluid
Replace rear diff fluid

$900.00. Good to go for another 60,000.

I do the air filter (K & N), Wiper blades and in cabin filter.

parts were 330.00 and the rest labor.
I checked with some other places (NTB, Firestone, Meineke, etc) and they were WAY more expensive than this price.

exactly... how do they justify $570 for labor??!

average shop rate in Illinois is 82.58hr for a franchise place and 68.60hr for an independent shop.

I got my transmission fluid changed and the cabin filter at 60k and mine was only like 800 at my dealer...

Got to pay to play...it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...still a hell of a lot cheaper than Europeans...I used to be so pissed!

my dealer's (Pepe Infiniti) 60,000 mile service is 495. They don't change all fluids, from what the website told me...just brakes.

That's a good price!! Hmmm...I thought the differential and transfer cases were due at 60k...either way I would recommend at least those fluids....

I added in the fluid changes and it kicked it up to ~1050. Dealer has a fancy service interface online now. Will talk to dealer next week and see what they suggest.
