Which is a better deal on infiniti i30?

I am looking to buy an infiniti i30 and i have found two possibilities. For $5000 i can get a 96 that has a redone body that is very new and shiny and is my preferred color w/120k miles... however it has salvaged title. On the other hand there is a 98 model with 20k less miles and an acceptable color, and perhaps better interior. The price of this is only $2000 more. Which is the better deal? If mechanic checks both and says They have no current or foreseable problems?

Geez - I just picked up a 98 with 135k on it, and a very good exterior and excellent interior for $3500!!
