Volume not working

I have a 2011 M37 and a couple of days ago the volume stopped working. I can't get any sound from the steering wheel control or the radio volume control. When I got the the "Settings", the "Audio" and the "Volume & Beeps" are both grayed out.

I looked at the fuse and it's not blown. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I appreciate the help.

I disconnected the negative cable from the battery for about 20 minutes, then reattached it. That solved the problem.
