A few months ago I special ordered a 2012 M35h and added a vehicle impact sensor as one of the accessories. A few days ago the dealer told me they got the part in but that Infiniti is pulling the accessory from the M35h's lineup so there wouldn't be any warranty on the part if it's installed.
I e-mailed Infiniti to find out why the part was discontinued, and/or if they were seeking to replace it with a new part, and received the following response:
"In regards to your inquiry regarding the discontinued part, we apologize that the information you are seeking is not available. Unfortunately at this time Infiniti is not in the position to move forward with your request. We apologize a more favorable response could not be given."
I'm guessing that either there's something technically wrong with the part (it doesn't play well with the M35h) or there's an issue with the part vendor/supplier. Anyone here have any other thoughts as to why the part might have been discontinued?
