Anyone have a diagram or pitures of the vacuum hose positions in a 06 g35. My fiance's car has the engine light on and we got the code ran at autzone and they said it was a vacuum leak code. I meed some kind of diagram so I can test for a leak. Thanks

Detecting the Leak

You requested a diagram, but having it may not help you pin point it. Here is an easy way to get a better location of the leak, if it is in fact a leak... Go buy a can of carburator cleaner and attach the little red tube.. With the car running closely spray the intake area and anywhere there are hose....When the engine idle changes(revs up or starts to bog) focus your spray more directly on components or hoses in the area..once leak is generalized you may be able to visually inspect the hose or components and thus find and fix your leak..Hope this helps

That's what I ended up doing. After finding nothing and scratching my head on it we brought it to our closest dealer. What that found made me laugh and my fiance' and myself because I didn't have a clue it was causing the problem.

When she fueled up Friday evening and replaced the gas cap the string that attaches it to the car was wrapped up in the cap causing the gasket not to seal and causing the engine service light to come on. I had no clue that was possible on a vehicle.
