So I bought an 8 inch drop aluminum hitch and dropped my 7x14 haulmark enclosed cargo trailer on it, like I would my Audi Q7 and this thing sags like the dickens!
The pump was running and I could hear the air being pressed into the shocks.
Are these things just not good for towing?
My Q7 rides on air and it sits completely level, even overloaded by 1000 or more lbs. over weight. I don't even use weight distribution with it.

Any ideas? Can the shocks handle a tow of 40 miles like that?

Is there an airbag that goes in the springs, that would help with this squat?
I am truly blown away that the air shocks cannot pump this up.

Nothing beats an Audi air suspension! Just saying. The Q7 is a little bulldog not to be trifled with! And no weight distribution!
I really wished and hoped that this 400HP QX beast could have held its ground, I was excited to use it. I don't have weight distribution and not sure it would have helped all that much.
I have watched many comparison towing videos concerning the QX and everyone says these have issues sagging under load thats not even close to capacity. I mean, 7000 lbs should not bother this truck, and yet it does.
Do they make a better air shock that could compare to Audis?

@jbgilbank Do you what your tongue weight is? I tow a boat in the weight range you're talking about (7000lbs) regularly without any problems or sag that the airbags don't level out. Is your tongue weight 10-15% of the total trialer weight?

Well, I am not sure really, I just know my Audi tows it like a freaking Mac and level, full bubble on center and this one sags. Now, I didn't pull it any distance, just around the block, but it never leveled up and it really should have. It is full of furniture and home furnishings, been my storage for past 3 years. I put my washer/dryer in the rear to help offset weight. Heaviest over axles to rear, as the rest of my belongings would weight in. I guarentee it was not anywhere as heavy as the load I pulled from California with Audi. Maybe it needs weight on quite often to keep it operating right? I used it to tow my Audi (broken) around 400 miles or more, it sagged a bit but it pulled fine. Even through the mountains, I just went easy.

Have you tried a weight distribution hitch?

While we are on the subject of towing, has anybody added an additional external transmission fluid cooler? If so, which brand /model?

No, as I don't need one for my Audi, I would expect any vehicle of towing this type of weight or more actually, to need the same set up, no weight distribution. Call me crazy.
