I tow my friend's boat last week and this is my first time to tow something big with my 2013 QX56. However, when I hit the tow mode button, I don't see any indicator shows up on the dashboard and the tow mode button seems doing nothing. The other buttons (Snow, traction) are working fine. Is that something that I miss to use tow mode button?

Tow mode

Love the 'tow mode' even when not towing anything. It locks that torque converter PDQ when it shifts into a gear. Nice crisp shifts. :D

Yeah don't know why it wouldn't let you use it. Press it and the word 'Tow' appears in the instrument cluster in green.
Shouldn't be to awful hard for a dealer to track down. Maybe dust in the switch?
Let us know if you have it looked at what the problem was.
Have a good one !

dead parrot,

how often do you use the tow in daily driving? i admit ive never thought to use the tow mode in normal driving... ill try that out tomorrow in morning la traafic...

tow mode

Hey Marc, yeah, just when I remember it. I forget to use it most of the time. Keeps it a novelty I guess. I think you will notice it when you have it on.

Oh (I'm not 'dead' yet ! ) LOL

And the brakes sure do work good on the QX, had to dodge a deer the other day !
Have a good one

I do like Deadparrot switch into tow mode take off traction control and use manual shift. Creates a little more snap even got the beast to break loose going around a corner on dry pavement with my low profile tires.

lol oops sorry parrot! :D

i remembered to hit the tow button tonight and i like how it downshifts. its very aggressive.

in comparison to the armada (i had two in my time) the tow on the qx with the rev matching shifting is really snappy and responsive!

good stuff!
