I am a new member here and I'm glad I found this forum. Very informative.
I just got a 2012 QX56 after rolling the 2008 model for the past 7 years. While I am very happy with the newer model I am also deeply disappointed at the number of features in the 08 model missing on the 12.
Here's a short list.
1. Adjustable pedals: My 08 had fully adjustable pedals which was a very useful feature. Maybe Infiniti made up for that with the telescopic steering wheel but it does not provide the same level of driver comfort.
2. Rear Windshield access, the rear windshield on the 08 is also a door in itself so that you dont have to open the trunk sometimes when its not convenient.
3. Power Rear vent on the 3rd row windows. The 3rd row windows have a powered vent feature that the driver controls. It opens the windows to an angle of about 2 inches or more. The 2012 3rd row windows are sealed shut!
4. Power Outlets on the 2008 are full time powered, they have power all the time, even when the engine is off. You can keep your phone charging without having to start the engine as on the 2012.
5. Step on rear bumper. This incredibly useful feature was also eliminated on the 2012 model. For someone like me who runs a print shop and makes deliveries often that feature was a lifesaver when loading and unloading the vehicle.
All the same, I am quite happy with the 2012 as I did thorough comparisons with the Lexus LX and the Benz GL (i wanted a change) but the Infiniti won hands down!
