I have seen other posts about this issue but no real diagnostic solution.
2012 QX56 4WD WITH KEYFOB
Car won't start, full good battery(checked at Dealer) foot on brake lights will come on etc but just won't turnover.
Wait a while and come back 10 Minutes or 5 minutes or two minutes and turns right over.
Very intermittent but happening more often now. Find myself going out 10 minutes before I need to leave and try and start it just in case. If it does I leave it running. If not I come back and try again.
There does not seam to be a rhyme or reason why it won't start.
I have read through other threads tighten battery cables, lose nut behind ignition switch, new starter, new ECM, but no real solution or pinpoint of the problem. Going to try different key fobs, tighten anything I can find. Its good to know I am not the only one that has had the issue but wish I knew what was wrong....Dealer does not know...

It sounds like exactly what happened to my 2012 QX.

My extended warranty paid all $2,400 to get it fixed. I had to pay the $100 deductible when picking up my car.

Yes, you read it right. My extended warranty paid $2,400 to get mine fixed. Symptoms are just like yours.

Then one day it just did not start and I had to get it towed to the dealership.

You will have to go read it on my thread. Will look for the link for you.

I was going to write what was wrong on mine, but just putting the link for you to read it and it sounds like it may be exactly what happened to mine.

Feel free to read and see the problem and solution.

And here is my thread about the maintenance I have done on my QX. Feel free to read it and use it as a reference to see at what mileage that happened to my car to compare with yours.

And here is a picture of my car on that faithful day it happened. Mine happened like yours many times and one day you will get to your car and it will not start. I mean, there is no miracle that will get it to start until a tow truck comes and takes it to the dealership.

So, if you do not fix this soon enough, you are guaranteed one of these days to be stranded somewhere.

I read your thread but I sounds like this was the first and last time it would not start. Did it occur more than the one time when you got it repaired? I can wait ten minutes later and come back and it would start right away.
Part of the repair does sound logical, sensor saying the brake is on.....

You probably read my post above and missed noticing that I already answered that question.

You can go and read the second to the last paragraph on my post above. It answers your question.
