Sonar System 2011 QX56

I am looking at a used 2011 QX56. I have a strange question. I want to to know if the vehicles sonar system(proximity sensors) stay active as it is driving. I have a very long driveway and very often my animals will chase the car as I am leaving the property. Will this system let me know if my animals are chasing the car since I cannot see them? Will it re-activate when I slow down so I know if they are behind me when I exit my gate? Or does it turn off after so many feet or at a certain speed and not re-activate until the car is started again? Thank you for your help in advance.

Yes, the sonar does automatically reactivate at very low speeds. You can also push the camera button to activate the around view monitor before you exit your gate.

keep in mind if the animals are too small or if they enter the path at some angles, the sensors may not pick them up. please do not solely rely on this system. its best to use it as a guide but depend on your eyes and ears.

roll down the window, turn off any radio and proceed slowly if you need to. the Qx is pretty tall from the ground to the lower bumper so if your furry friends are small they could walk up under the car unnoticed.
