Somebody help please!?

Hi,
I have a 2001 I30 and just recently had the mass air flow changed, everything was going fine until a few days ago when the engine started idling funny. It will rev up just about every second and drop back down. Then to make things worse I now have a strong gas smell invading my car. Another helpful tip to know would be that it's not giving me any codes. Can anyone please help?

I do know that if there is any sort of problem with the mass air flow connector it WILL cause funny idling. I would try unplugging and plug the connector back in (usually located near the air filter casing) to see if that changes anything.

Regarding the gas smell I cannot think of anything that would cause that from just changing a MAF...
