Has anyone had issues with their qx starting after a heavy rain and sitting for a day or two? We got a ton of rain in St. Louis and the qx sat all weekend. Just started it up and it was rough and shook three or four times before idling smooth. Thoughts?

How many times has it done this?
Just this one time, but we have only owned it for about 3 months and it is typically in the garage. Only reason it is sitting out is because we had to park our boat in the driveway due to flooding at our storage lot.How many times has it done this?

It is a 2012 QX56. My wife and I are the third owners. Previous owner bought it certified from an Infiniti dealer. We did not buy certified, but had it checked out by an Infiniti shop we trust and everything was fine. Battery is fine. It almost seemed as if some of the electronics got wet somehow...Would the scanner show any codes even if the vehicle doesn't show any indicators on the dash? I have not had the problem since, so I am hoping it was just a freak occurrence.

not fully appreciated the heavy rain you had, it could have been something that was soggy--a wiring harness or something else.
the obd system will log a code and not mention it (it wont throw a CEL light) unless that code pops up again, then it will alert you.
since you have not seen a cel, this could have been a one off incident (due to the heavy rain).
still, something made the car sputter a bit, so maybe check any harnesses, coil packs (over the spark plugs) or anything electrical under the hood to see if there is anything visible to your eye.
if you have access to a code scanner, its a no brainer to use it. autozone and stores like that have them and they usually would do it for free.
if you want one yourself, there's these bluetooth dongles you can connect to your phone and car (10 bux) and you can get a 5 dollar (or free) app off the app store on your phone to read the codes anytime-p-and even clear the cel lamp.

Our 12 did this once after a long weekend parked outside my in laws home in North MS. It was incredibly damp and foggy. Humid too. Engine started up and ran like it was firing on every third cylinder for 3-4 seconds. I turned it off and restarted. Fired right up and never happened again. I never had it checked out. I attributed it to the dampness and something electronic as well.
