Hi All,
New to the forum,
Removing the center console on 2011+ QX56 is so simple. Also, they do sell the matt that takes place of the 3rd row matt and extends into the area between the two second row seats and even slants down to take care of the slight rise in the area.
It was about 100.
To remove the console:
1) flip up the two seats
2) use the correct size (?) * star shaped screwdriver tool to remove the 4 screws on the side.
3) remove the center console (carefully not to damage)
4) Use an exacto knife to slightly cut back the carpet (about 1/2 inch) for each bracket to get a socket on there (NOTE: there is a screwdriver fitting too, but you will never get it to unscrew with a regular screwdriver)
5) Starting at the rear bracket, lift up on the bracket so the carpet comes up a little so you can pull the bracket out from oneside.
6) Repeat with the front, however, the carpet was not as 'loose' in the front, so I had to cut just a little bit more carpet to get the front bracket it out
7) Place all the screws and brackets in the console and stow
8) With the seats still in the forward position, lay down the "T" shaped mat that is the 3rd row carpet which extends forward to cover the holes made by the above steps
That's it, hope it works
