My wife backed into something and it dented the back/top of the rear stainless bumper protector (in addition to putting a small crease in the bumper). We aren't going to worry about the bumper and I already bought a brand new rear bumper protector.

It comes with the rubber gasket around it and 3M tape on it. The question for the crew here is what is the best way to remove the one that is on there without damaging anything else? Heat gun to the stainless to soften to 3M tape? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

yep. heat gun/hair dryer. use even.steady force and just slowly pull the chrome piece up. you need 3 arms though.. :) so get someone to hold the dryer on the spot you want to start at and the go... :) use goo-gone to clean up.
