Ready to install Borla Cat-Back on a 2012 QX

I'm thinking either the detail went terribly wrong or you don't have that exhaust.

Sounds good also.

My C5 still has the stock exhaust on it, and it's too damn quiet.

Easy to fix, I had a set of the corsa's on my c5, they were very nice, had a nice rumble with the back pressure.

Very nice thank you, I like the sound of it and think i will order one for myself. I think though I would like to have the exhaust shop run it out the back more than have it come out on the sides. Did you install yourself or have it done?

I did it in the driveway in about an hour. Didn't have any fitment issues at all, just the stock exhaust is heavy if you're by yourself, and hanging the Borla muffler would have been easier with an extra pair of hands. Yea I hate that they come out the sides. What the hech was borla thinking with that??? I am looking into having new tailpipes made up that exit out the back instead too.. It really does sound awesome though

I have a magaflow on the Q. took off the resonator and it sounds remarkably similar to all of these... my opinion of course.

well the aftermarket exhaust will not be covered by warranty, and some cheesy stealerships may not even work on your car if the problem has something to do with the manifolds, O2 sensors, etc. they can easily throw up their hands and say "well you have that aftermarket system on there and for all we know that could be part of the problem..."

cat back systems sound good, they let your car exhale exhaust better and faster (most cases) so your car will pick up a bit of speed when you pres on the accelerator.

they do not increase mpg to anything noticeable but may give you a bit of pep as mentioned above.

if you want some god cheap improvements, cut off the stock muff and resonator and put on a good aftermarket one (I have magnaflow.. less restrictive than stock and give you a good growl. shows off the V8 :D) and a nice 3rd party air filter. keep your foot out of the tank off the line (green light) and cruise when you can on the highway and you will bve golden.

Asked my dealer first about who had a performance exhaust available, then they did not know but did advise me that they should be the ones to install it to keep the warranty in place. Once I found out that the borla system was ready go, I asked them again when in for my service and they said they could in stall the system for me and everything would remain the same as far as the warranty. I asked how much and here was the real surprise. He looked up on the computer the time table for pulling the exhaust system and said it would be about $150! I nearly fell on the floor as thought they would come back with price well over 500.00 I assume they would stand behind it if something did go wrong. I guess they only thing I could think of would be the computer throwing fault codes out? Any thoughts?

Also wondering this. I am very interested although I have a qx80 but don't see why it wouldn't fit. There weren't any changes between 13 and 14 right?

QX80 is the same body and exhaust wise. just some added software features, a new 5.6 emblem.

the stock exhaust is quite beefy but the muff and resonator are a bit restrictive. if you want instant gratification at a good price, do what i did; chop off the muff and resonator.

i am not a big fan of dual exhausts on this particular engine because some back pressure is a good thing for it. having a dual exhaust compromises that a bit in my opinion.

i of course am not an exhaust pro but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.. :D

What did you replace it them with? Any drone? Any sound clips? Stock tip? How loud at cruising? Thanks.
