I have a 2012 QX56 and mine also does this. Hoping someone knows!

2011 QX56 - when at red lights, it feels like occasionally it tries to surge forward, but since my foot is on the brake it doesn't. The RPMs go up a little bit when this happens. I reported to dealer years ago, never made any progress. I hasn't gotten any worse over that time.

whats the code? does it come back after you clear it? what scan tool do you have?
did you just buy the car or did you purchase it new? can you repeat this on demand or is it random? does it only happen when you first park it or just random?

I’ve had the car for a pretty good while and it comes back maybe in an hour or Mike may take a month before it does it again I am pretty sure that is cam visors

It’s just like an old car with an EGR valve gone bad

I’ve had mine for 4 years 208k miles. Mine hasn’t done it in a while or I haven’t noticed it lately. The surge is like 100 rpms if I remember correctly. I’ll monitor it closely for the next week and see if I can get any more details.

Im looking to get a new scan tool, what do you recommend? I like the innova 5610 but it’s pricey. I also have another issue I’m trying to solve. When speed > 40 mph and slight acceleration it feels like it misfires or bucks. Feels like a coil pack and or spark plug but no code ever displays. Probably just need to replace all but would like to know before I throw $$
Would a more advance scan tool help. I only have a $20 obd2 reader from Amazon.
