QX56/80 IR Headphones

Looking for replacement headphones for my 2012 QX. The stock ones suck. My oldest child in the back never can get his to work right and my middle child's set broke. Will any IR headphones work with the system?
 
should not have an issue with conventional IR headphones.

as for the set that you have that still work, make sure the channel on the headset matches the monitor. you can have the headset set for the right monitor but the person using the headset is on the left monitor.
 
I bought a cheap audiovox dual channel on ebay (maybe 30 bucks). works. no better than the ones that came with the system, however.

went to the dealer today to get new foam covers for the stock headphones. No luck. They wanted to sell me a new headphone for $215.

bought the audiovox mentioned previously on amazon, not ebay
 
Need better wireless headphones

Does anyone know if there is a way to upgrade the wireless headphones. The ones I have don't do a good job of cancelling out the background noise and my kids keep telling me to turn down my music. defeats the purpose. help!

the stock system uses IR phones, so you can search around for other models/brands but they must be IR. the same phones that the armadas use are the same here.
 
Noticed the same with mine. I change the fade to the front and seems to have fixed the problem for the most part.
 
I bought a set from Best Buy, because my kids were complaining the stock earphones were uncomfortable... spent about $110 for the pair, but the kids liked them better... ironically they only used them twice in the 2 years I've bought them...as now they're too cool to watch movies in the Beast.... arrrg.

2012 qx56 bluetooth headphones

Can I link any bluetooth headphones to this system?

both were under $30 when i got them, and both work fine. they are more comfortable for the kids than the stock ones. The dealer tried to sell me stock ones for like $200 and i laughed. They don't even sound good.

any 2-channel IR headphones should work.

100% correct. IR headphones are line-of-sight, and any pair will work beautifully in your QX. We just got a pair of these: Headphones All we had to do was put in batteries.
 
QX56 2nd Row Headphones that also work

Search for "MTG-HP2CA" and it should come back with "Movies to Go" headphones by Voxx. That same part number was previously for the exact product but sold under Audiovox.

"Dual Channel Fold-Flat IR Wireless Headphone"

My kids liked these better than the original Infiniti headphones that came with our 2012.

I've also seen these carried at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart (online). Price is around $23 each. :)
