Question on Performance of 1994 Infiniti J30-T - Not 1984 as previously stated?

A few days ago I asked a question about the performance of a J30-T Infiniti and I gave the wrong year of my car. It was a 1994 not a 1984. I aplogize to those who thought I was crazy and probably knew nothing about this car. I did own an Infiniti J30-T (T for touring package). and it was a 1994 model and they were only out a few years.

I do not know anything about the technical names for the suspension system on this car but it was the best ever made. All four wheels would turn and it handled like a dream. It would also fly. It is still going good. I sold (gave it away) to a friend and have been sorry every since. I now have a 2004 Infiniti G35 with the touring package but it does not handle nearly as easily nor ride as good as my old one. I am not even sure my newer one is as fast as the J30-T

It was a very popular car and I still see a lot of them on the road. I would like to know if anyone knows why they quit making that model with that suspensions system? It was Awsome!

the suspension modification you are talking bout is called HICAS =

HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension) is Nissan's rear wheel steering system found on cars ranging from the more recent Skyline and Z iterations to smaller models like the Nissan Cefiro (A31), 240SX/180SX and Nissan Serena/Nissan Largo. It is also found on models from Nissan's Infiniti division, such as the Q45 and the M45/M35. Unlike other four wheel steering systems, HICAS and Super HICAS is fitted to improve handling rather than as a parking aid.Earlier HICAS versions used hydraulics to steer the rear wheels. The hydraulic system was powered by the power steering pump and used speed sensors to determine how much and which direction to steer the rear wheels. Later versions, called Super HICAS, moved to an electric actuator for the rear steering rack, making the system much lighter. The Super HICAS system also used its own computer to control the system instead of speed sensors. HICAS and Super HICAS rear wheel steering is limited to about 1 degree in either direction.

my friend had a 240sx with HICAS, he didnt really like it because he was a drifter and it made hard to drift. he sold it a little later, now infinti uses awd on certain models, awd = all wheel drive.

You must be in a warm climate because the J30 gets stuck in a mud puddle let alone snow.
