Q50 anyone??

Went to the dealer this morning for what amounts to my Bi-monthly oil change and walked into the showroom (no sales people in yet..as it was 8am). I saw the new Q50s. Looked better than I thought it would.

They're apparently just sitting on the showroom floors and lots, because Infiniti hasn't officially allowed for the car to be sold because of a software issue which is being updated. Question is, is this a big or smaller car than the M series?? It's priced lower than the M and apparently has a similar engine as the G37... I'm confused... anyone with knowledge on the car??

Also... I was told about 300 of the Q50s were damaged in transit when they arrived at the Port in NJ, requiring both front & rear bumper repairs. So ask questions of the dealer when you're picking one up during the official launch next week or 2.

Aren't the "G" cars and I assume the new Q50's based on the Altima and the "M" was based off the Maxima's?

the 50 looks just like an altiima. the center dash looks unfinished. no style to it at all.

love the leatest tech in it and the body design is very nice..

but nope.. ill stick to my petrol guzzling 10 thousand pound q56!

Yup.. just discovered that Infiniti is rebadging all their cars with the "Q" name.

The Q50 is the new name for the G-series
The Q70 is the new name for the M-series

The EX changes to QX50
The JX changes to QX60
The FX changes to QX70
The QX56 changes to QX80

Now that the QX56 changes names to the QX80... that will probably mean an EXTRA $10k hit to our resale values!!!! OUCH!!!

Yeah they announced the naming reorganization about 6 or 7 months ago.

I get why they are doing it, but to me a G is a G and an M is the M....

Calling every car/truck model a Q is stupid... If you only had 3 or 4 models, that's fine.. but everyone is silly..

I know Audi does it, but theirs seems easy, since u can almost relate/visualize the car / A series; 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 as to sizing, and then using Q for their SUVs.

Yes the new CEO of Infiniti came from Audi.. so I guess he's trying to repeat a pattern.

Totally agree, I guess now "Q" stands for Infiniti in their mind. Doesn't make sense. Interesting that Audi stole the Q for their SUVs.

I would have preferred separate letters for coupes, sedans, and SUVs/crossovers.
