I was driving home form vacation last week and my truck started jerking like it lost power and the dash went out but came back on. I made it home and put it on a scanner and it gave me a code of u1000. Has anyone experienced this?

did you also get a check engine lamp to come on?

this error could mean a couple things --

- Controller Area Network (CAN) communication harness is open or shorted
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
- Poor harness ground connection

Cleaning engine and body harness ground connection can help.
- Clean/re-tighten ECM ground connections.
- Clean/re-tighten negative battery cable body connection and battery post connection.

this is a generic CANBUS error which is kinda saying the ECM is not sending out the proper data to the sensors, causing a fault along the way. the computer network on your car has sensors in series, so they all pass data, ignoring whats not for them and transmitting their own response when the ecm asks. its possible a sensor is failing, due to a corroded wire harness or other fault on the harness thats causing some continuity issues.

heres a video - not nissan specific, but may help you in deciding what on your car you may need to check, since none of us over the internet can smoke it over....

Yes I did get a service engine soon light. I will check out the things you mentioned. Thx
