My sirius radio is showing, signal required on the screen. I am not getting a signal. Sirius radio people told me that the issue is not on their end. What could possibly be the problem?

the radio sat antenna could be faulty. did you just purchase this car? do you have a way to contact the party you purchased rom if you did indeed just buy it? maybe there is some 3rd party modifications doens behind the radio and maybe they did not reconnect something.

I purchased this vehicle 3 years ago. The xm radio was working for about 2 years, before it lost signal.

Actually, it would lose signal here and there. I would be listening 2 the xm radio, then it go out and back in. It would say acquiring signal, then it would come back in. Now it will not do anything. The screen just shows, acquiring. I really believe it has something 2 do with the antenna.

yes me too. the antenna on the roof may be damaged or the wiring may be damaged. the only way to know is to check it.

Check it how? I just put a order in for a new one. Hopefully this new one works. I appreciate u for responding to my issue.

you will have to physically make sure the connections are secure and continuity is there in the wiring. you will have to remove the headliner to access the antenna on the roof. trace the wiring back to the head unit and make sure all is well. since you are able to get a signal sometimes that may rule out the headunit itself.

Thank u 4 the advice. I will check it out. Once the new antenna comes in this week, i will let u know, if it worked.

Do u have any ideal how to remove the antenna?

How do i disconnect the old antenna?

Do anyone know how to remove the roof top antenna, on the 07 qx56? I need to change my antenna.

grab the service manual thats avail free online.

the sat radio brain should be under the drivers dash near your right knee. it's a small box. the removal of the headliner is what you need to do. removing the pillar finisher should expose the headliner where you can peel it back to get at the bolt holding the antenna on the roof. this is from memory i recall from reading years ago. again the service manual will be more helpful.
