All 4 of my tires on my '11 are low, registering at 28-29. I've never had to add air to any of my vehicles in the winter before. Just wondering if its the nitrogen that shrinks more than regular air. I had it last winter and they didnt get low, but I bought it in October, so it was cool then.
Do all the new QX's have nitrogen and does everyone use it or anybody use regular air?

From what I understand Nitrogen is less resistant to temp flucuations compared to oxygen giving you more consistent tire pressure. I live in California so our temp flucuation and cold temps are not that bad so I'm using regular air. Not sure if everybody knows this but if your tires are low, just turn on your car (engine running) and fill the tire up. When the tire inflates to 35 psi the horn will beep once.

I had nitrogen on my last set of tires on my armada. when i was in atlanta, it would get quite cold in the winter. psi never made any fluctuations. in colder climates i would recommend using it, but please dont mix conventional air with nitrogen as you will be sacrificing the effects of pure nitrogen. so if you cant maintain the nitrogen in the tire, dont use it.

here is a video showing the tire pressure system.

the Q will flash the light and honk to let you know if you over fill and when you get back to the proper level.

Thanks guys! I found a place that has nitrogen and should be visiting them.tomorrow. This is the best riding and driving vehicle I have ever owned, including 2 previous QX's. Not sure how much the nitrogen has to.do.with that, but I will keep it in the tires!

reduces potential for corrosion on the wheel and maintains proper psi. thats enough for me.

more horn ?

Hey maverick, I will have to try that. I seen that beep feature on the Nissan car commercials but didn't know the QX did the beep, LOL Thanks!

and Lashea, if you are ever trapped out here in 'flyover country', :D don't be afraid to use a air pump in an emergency for your tires. Air is 78-79% Nitrogen.
It won't hurt them a bit, and you can add nitrogen to them when you are back in the big city. Its all good, the QX does ride very well :)
Have a good one
