Have been lurking on the forum for about 6 weeks now and initially had not considered a QX56 during my search for an Acura MDX replacement. I needed a spacious seven seater/family hauler and was steering pretty strongly towards the new Mercedes ML series. The interior though similar in cargo volume is nowhere as commodious in passenger volume as the QX's and it is new so there are genuine concerns about reliability. Looked at an LR4 which admittedly drives quite well but is also cramped and not larger than my wife's volvo XC90. Acura MDX, Audi Q7 and the GM full size platforms are all long in the tooth. On a whim I checked out this forum first to see owner's thoughts on the QX. The more I read, the more I liked the vehicle and a week ago test drove one with my wife and made a deposit within 1 hour of driving the car.
It is a heck of a large car but rides wonderfully. Wife and kids love it. MSRP was ~70.200 wth theater, 22", AWD, wheat, bench and a couple of other dealer options. Purchased at 60,500. That also thanks to the forum and reading about ongoing November offers. There were none in my area with a 200 mile radius with the deluxe touring package but on the other hand, I do not absolutely need it as I do not intend to drive this car hard - I have one dedicated to such driving already.
Again, thanks to you all. Hope to learn and share more on this forum in the future
Sorry about the poor quality phone pictures
