Hey Guys and Ladies,

First time posting but have been reading up here for quite some time. Finally pulled the trigger last weekend on a '12 QX56 Sage/Tan interior with theater package and premium wheels. It's my wife's car and so far she's all smiles! We wanted to keep our MB GL450 for a while but were in the process of buying a travel trailer, as nice as the GL was, it simply did not have enough towing power. It was sad to let her go but the quality and craftsmanship of the QX definitely eased the pain.

So far we've encountered two issues...the analog clock is not working, will likely need replacement and the home link is near impossible to set up. I've set up a few likes of the home link but this one is awfully stubborn....I followed the instructions closely and just can't get the lights to flash, anyone with similar issues?

Enclosed are some pics of our rides, enjoy! Looking forward to learning and sharing valuable info.

regards,
Gene

Just got ours last week and my wife is very happy also. I had a tough time with homelink. You must follow the 2 steps. First make sure it handheld remote process is compeleted. We have a garage door that has the training button which is the second step to follow. Once these two steps were followed it worked, but after a few tries.

cool color

Welcome Gsun ! enjoy your QX, its a Horse !:D

Have a good one!

Same here with the home link. It finally worked but you MUST follow all of the steps to complete it including using the remote. I was under the impression it would be like the others I have programmed using the smart button on the garage door opener. It does use that feature but only after you have programmed the home link to the remote...
Congrats on a beautiful ride. I have got to get out and make some pics of our 2012 soon...
Welcome to the Forums...

Thanks Guys! The homelink actually malfunctioned due to a faulty fuse, I haven't had the chance to program it but will do so this weekend. Thanks for the info and enjoy your nice rides in good health!

regards,
Gene

the reprogram instructions are in the manual. if you dont have the operators manual or need to find out where they are, ill be happy to post a screen grab of the pdf i have.

Gene,

It sounds like your vehicle was delivered to you in "transport" mode. In this mode several features are deactivated including the analog clock and the homelink. The same thing happened to me when I picked up my wife's 2011 QX. You need to contact the dealer and have them walk you through the process to take the vehicle out of transport mode. It only takes a few seconds and before you know it, all of your features will work just fine.

Good luck.

To take it out of transport mode, put both the wiper switch and the signal switch in "down" position, then look in the fuse panel beside your left foot, there is a white "plug", push it in, and your out of transport mode.

Wow, thanks guys!! We should start a thread on "Things or functions I didn't know existed" on the QX.

Gene

transport mode should be done at the dealer and well before a sale. the customer should never have to do this. not good customer service.

The QX56 is nice but the M6 takes the cake! :)

Thanks! The M6 is my baby and I intend to keep her for awhile, it's likely the last time a production car to be fitted with a NA V10.
