Hi All,

Just picked up my 2011 QX56 a week ago and just joined this forum. I'm also on the nicoclub forum.

Specs of my car: Moonlight White/Black (or dark gray) leather interior, Deluxe Touring, Technology, Theatre, Illuminated Kickplates, Rear cargo mat, net, first aid kit.
I did clearbra the front of the car and tinted the driver and passenger side windows. I also ordered the rear bumper protector off eBay but it's not here yet. That piece has been discontinued with no end in site and it's only because of the adhesive tape. So I bought my own 3M tape and will use it.

I'm still figuring out the various technology pieces of this vehicle but I love it and my wife loves it even more (it's her car).

I only have 200 miles on it now but when I get it to about 1,000 miles am looking forward to seeing how it tows my wakeboarding boat.

My neighbors who own various GMC Denali's, Yukons, etc. all think it's not poweful enough for my boat and all I tell them is it has as much HP as you do, more torque and a higher towing capacity...so suck it! :p

Congratulations! And welcome to the forum.

I've owned a '04 and currently own an '07. I tow a 23' Boston Whaler from central jersey to Cape Hatteras and back.

Recently, my son's Prelude broke down in Buffalo. I borrowed my friends enclosed car carrier (2 tons empty) and loaded the Prelude on-board for a total of 8000lbs plus.
The '07 never hiccuped climbing through the mountains of up state New York.

We are very pleased with the towing capacity of the QX56. It handles the loads with ease. There were many time I checked the rear view just to make sure the trailer is still attached.

Your 2011 has 70 more horsepower and 23 pounds more torque then the '07! You should be able to pull a house down with it.

Enjoy!

Congrads, I also just purchased the rear bumper protector thru EBay for my '11 QX. Have not installed yet. It has 1/2 inch double sided sticky tape around the 4 edges. I know they had some issues with adhesive problems. Were you planning on removing the existing tape and placing a double sided 3M tape to install?

I installed the bumper protector. The tape seems fine. we shall see how it holds up

I have a GMC Donali as well as the 2011 QX56. I used both to tow my 24 ft snowmobile trailer - the QX56 blows away the Donali towing. I swear I don't even feel it. I do have the brake controller on both trucks.

I'm planning on adding 3M tape to the existing tape and using both. I haven't received the bumper protector yet so I don't know that there's room to have both sets of tape but I'll see how it goes when I get it.

I have had my 2011 QX since last July. Knocking on wood I have not had any problems with the rear bumper protector which I had installed about 8 months ago. My dealer did mention something about the adhesive tape issues but I presumed that it would have been resolved by now.

Have you installed yours yet with additional tape? If so, any issues? I just received mine today and plan on adding extra tape as well.

I have not installed it yet but it did arrive a few weeks ago. I had clearbra installed in that area and am thinking I'll wait a bit before I install it. I suppose it makes me feel better about paying the $80 for the clearbra by not ripping it out weeks after the install. :)
