Hi. New to this forum, lots of good info. My wife bought a new QX56 2 weeks ago and loves it. Now she wants me to accessorize it. Had windows tinted yesterday. I picked up OEM moonroof wind deflector and a bug shield. Has anybody installed either one? Any problems or difficulties?
thanks

I installed the Infiniti Moonroof deflector and it was pretty easy. Takes a little measuring but easy enough...about 30 minutes.

I'd be interested to know if the moonroof deflector makes it quieter when the roof is closed? I'm surprised by how much noise is eliminated by closing the shade.

OP, do you have a newer qx? 2011+ or an older model?

if the newer, i have the bug guard and its worth its cost.

the moon roof deflector is not needed based on my LA driving on the interstate and surface roads. the roof has not caused me any major noise issues, however that is personal taste what one can withstand as it relates to road noise...

i think the roof deflector and the side rain guards junk up this luxury car.

Does the bug guard kill the look of a qx? Especially a white one?
How does it work anyways? Does it stop bugs from hitting the windshield?

Also anyone 3M their front bumpers?

ive a black q. so the bug shield blends in naturally.

for a white car it is more noticeable, but its sleek and not gaudy like some other designs.

the guard is designed to block wind form hitting the hood and front of the vehicle. ive had it on since day one of the car (a year) and its worked fine. no bugs on the windshield or even the top of the roof where the windshield meets it.

'Course I live in SOCAL so not a lot of critters around, but its a recommendation imo.'

there is a guy on another forum who has a armada and had the 3M on the car for a few years. he removed it and it left signs that it was there, and he did not recommend it to others who may have been on the fence about it. id provide a link should you want to read.

again, there will be others who swear by it, so in the end its your call.

thanks for the response. I have installed moonroof deflectors & bug shields on other vehicles, never had any problems with the install. The INFINITI moonroof deflector installation instructions seemed a bit confusing/complicated (as do most installation instructions). I bought the Infiniti moonroof deflector, bug shield and a couple other accessories online at GRUBBS INFINITI located in Euless, Texas. Great prices btw! I had to make a trip to Dallas so stopped by and picked the accessories up (saved on shipping) and the service manager said he would install both for $80. The moonroof deflector and bug shield look great and are very functional. The hood/bug deflector helps keep rock chips off the hood as well as deflecting bugs, etc. The moonroof helps a lot with wind noise.
