I have a 2012 QX56 and was wondering if there is any way to add a trigger to the driving lights so they come on and go off with the auto headlights rather than having to manualy turn them on & off?

do you mean fog lamps or those tiny little lamps in the headlamp housing?

anything is possible. if you are handy with wiring up electronics, this should be a snap.

Fog lights, driving lights, whatever you want to call them but the lights at the bottom of the bumper. A buddy of mine who does alarm & stereo install for dealerships told me there could be potential problems if it's not done the right way. Unfortunately he doesn't do anything for Infiniti so he doesn't have the wiring diagrams to figure out how to do it the right way so it doesn't throw error codes, burn up wiring harnesses, damage computers, etc.

reason I asked for clarification is there are running lamps in the housing and then theres the fog lamps. i wanted to know which set of lamps you were referring too and i was not trying to be a smart mouth. :o

the BCM controls the fog lamps and that system is all a part of the CAN (computer network) system. your installer friend is right about being careful with that.

have your friend look at the wiring diagram for a 2010 armada/qx to get an idea of how the fog lamps are. he should have a diagram for an armada yes? if so have him look at the latest model diagram he can.

If you leave the headlight switch in AUTO and then switch on the FOG light switch, full headlights and taillights (as well as fogs) will be illuminated ALL THE TIME. Which I do not like as the HID really do nothing in the daylight.

I'm in Canada, so I have DRL's and those would be my FOGS. These are on ALL time (like running lights).

I wish we could use fog lights as DRLs in the US. Tried to get my dealer to find out how it's done in Canada, but he wasn't able to.
