iPod Video out while connected to USB (in 2012 QX)

When I connect an iPod Touch loaded with videos to a video out cable with component audio/video and USB and connect the USB, I cannot play any videos. The iPod goes into "Accessory Mode" and you cannot select videos. Is there any way to tell the QX to disable iPod mode (I just want to use the USB for charging)?

Otherwise, I have to hook up the video and power to the external jack on the back, which isn't as nice and the kids will end up kicking i.

I would use the video out jacks in the console and charge via the 12v versus trying to use the USB...That way it will stay out of the way and charge at the same time....

I found the same issue. I think you are going to have to use the 12v. Also, as you may know, only the rear component jacks work if you want to use different sources for each monitor, not the ones inside of the console.

just so you know, the usb port on thew car will not allow access to the videos on apple products.
