Intelligent Key Warning Light

I just purchased a used 2011 QX56 for my wife. I test drove the vehicle yesterday and everything was kosher, but she drove it home from the dealership and the "intelligent key warning light" is on. Everything functions properly, but the light won't go off.

The dealer only gave us one key. I'm wondering if maybe the key we have needs to be reprogrammed or something like that. Any insight would be helpful.... Of course today is Sunday and nobody is open for business!
 
just take it back top to the $tealer and have them run a quick "FREE" diagnostic on it
 
sounds like the battery just needs replacing....

I replaced the battery and now I need to hold the key near the start button to start the truck. If the key is in my pocket or just two feet away it will not start.

If you read the manual this is exactly what it says it'll do when the battery dies. I know you said you changed it but did you change it with a good battery? Did you check the contacts inside?
 
I replaced it with a new battery. Not sure about contacts. I bought it from a used car dealer 3 hours away. It still has 20,000 miles on the warranty, so I will call our local dealer tomorrow. I hope it is something simple. Everything else is functioning great. It's too bad because this little crap adds so much stress to something that should be fun.

I had the new battery in backwards! Stupid, I know. The key works properly again, but th light is still on. Any other ideas?
 
post a photograph of the actual issue you are having. "the light" does not mean anything to me.. :o

There is a yellow light shaped like a key between the speedo and tach. It is the Intelligent Key Warning Light. The manual says it should go off a few seconds after the truck is started but it stays on in our truck.

There was a malfunction with an antenna in the door. The dealer ordered a part and it will be covered under warranty. Whew!

same i have a 2007 g37 journey and the key light turned on i replaced the battery in the key fob but the light is still on, car turns on and drives fine all the windows work not sure what could be the problem? did you ever figure it out?
