Anyone who's owned an Infiniti QX4 or if you do auto repairs please advise.

In buying a 2002 QX4 with just under 100k miles. Is this a car that needs a lot of repairs? Maintenance is understandable. I'm concerned about repair problems for the car.

Thnx.

I just registered after I saw this topic.

My 2002 QX4 4WD is super reliable. I skipped major service at 60K miles. I bought it new and now have 82K miles on it. Absolutely no problem. The only "problem" is caused by myself: trying to get to the spare wheel and damaged the tube thing under the trunk area.

Super reliable car if maintained. Our 2001 has 100K on the clock and the only repair so far has been a cam timing sensor.

My 2001 is at 126k and no issues. Great car and very reliable assuming it has been maintained and not abused.

My 2001 QX4 has 220,000 miles on it and purrs like a kitten. I bought it in '03 (65k miles) & have driven her hard ever since. I now use it as a work vehicle (4wd) & the only repairs I've had to make is: both headlight ballasts have gone bad. Dealer wants $500 each, but I bought them off eBay for $100-$150 each. I had to replace the MAF sensor (again ebay) & cam timing sensor. I'm about to replace all 4 rear control arms, as it will start to wobble @ highway speeds. Overall I give the QX4 2 thumbs up. Everything is pretty much routine repair, except for the headlight ballasts. I wish there was more options, but the 2001's ballasts are different from all other years.... I also have a 2004 G35.... I love Infiniti (Nissan) :D
