hi i have a 1993 infiniti j30 same engine as a better known nissan 300zx, i haven't driven the car in a couple of mouths and today when i started her she was making a loud squealing noise (like a bad belt sound) that went away and didn't come back as soon as i pressed the gas pedal for the first time. That problem went away as soon as i pressed the gas pedal and never came back. And now for the new problem (fun) lol.The car runs and drives great but is now making a clicking sound at idle but as soon as i give her gas it goes away it sounds to me like it's coming from the timing belt area.i only hear it at idle and when i'm driving and coming to a complete stop, but as soon as i take off it goes away right away. i have top ed all the fluids off and done an oil change. My thinking is that it's something to do with the timing or the water pump i just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue.thanks

car has almost 200,000 miles
the knocking sound is constant, it only goes away when i give it gas but as soon as it comes back to idle it knocks/clicks again.

I have an 86 300zx that occasionaly does the same thing at startup. Give it gas and it knocks whatever is clicking into place. I wouldnt worry about it. VG engines are tough as nails.

Well there you go either the lifters bled down and may eventually pump back up or the valve train clicking is still there as you rev up motor noise gets lould or there is a timing belt tension device that is allowing the cams to rattle. 200,000 miles for a J30 it is just about time to start new car shopping or car restoration.
