Infiniti i30 2001 service engine light.?

when i start it up in the morning it takes a few minutes to get going. i think it is a senor. i had the guy at auto zone run the codes and he said to put fuel injection cleaner in it. i did and its still on and does the same thing. how can i check these codes myself and figure out what wrong with it.

Take it to a dealership. $112 to diagnose check engine light.

it might need new fuel injectors but i would pay the $100 to do it at the dealership to see exactly whats wrong with it

What was the code? the mass airs were fairly good at going bad, there was a countermeasure maf and an updated ecm flash that went with these cars. Also, if theres a code stored for either random cylinder or certain cylinder missfire i'd look into the coil packs, they're an item of concern on the vg motors.

Its $45, prob a little more with shipping. Well worth it -- especially if you need to clear a troublesome code for leaving the fuel cap off or something.
