Hi,

I have a 200 I30t and I want to move to a more 'plush soft' ride instead of the stiffer ride this car has (I am 43 and want luxury not sporty :-)). The car has 90K so it's time for them to be replaced anyway. I am going to replace the rear springs (i was told that the factory springs are stiffer) with the 'base' I30 springs however I am totally confused on which way I should go for struts and shocks. From what I can tell I have struts up front and shocks in the back. Here are some options:

1) OEM - go and pay big $ for the I30 'base' struts and shocks
2) Ebay - which has so many options (KYB, Munroe, Tokico,

Also, do I need to replace the mounts? I'll spend whatever I need to get the ride I want so I'm not trying to go cheap.

Thanks in advance.....

I've always liked KYB for a good mid-ranged Strut / Shock, however, if money is not an option and you want something that's going to perform / ride the way you want, I would suggest looking at something like Koni.

You shouldn't have to replace the mounts and to be quite honest with you, I wouldn't worry too much about those rear springs either. The difference really isn't too noticeable, especially when you get a good shock in there.

Cheers..

First, you shouldn't have to replace your mounts at this point and I wouldn't replace your rear springs either. The rear springs really won't make "that" much of a difference, depending on the quality of the shocks.

Personally, I've always used KYB struts / shocks in the past (on my DSM's), but on my Infiniti I tend to spend a little more. If money is not an issue, I would actually recommend that you go with a Koni strut / shock. They make an awesome product and I have "never" had a complaint. These are just my personal experiences.

Hope that helps...
