I30 Struts and Shock recomendations please

Hi,

I have a 200 I30t and I want to move to a more 'plush soft' ride instead of the stiffer ride this car has (I am 43 and want luxury not sporty ). The car has 90K so it's time for them to be replaced anyway. I am going to replace the rear springs (i was told that the factory springs are stiffer) with the 'base' I30 springs however I am totally confused on which way I should go for struts and shocks. From what I can tell I have struts up front and shocks in the back. Here are some options:

1) OEM - go and pay big $ for the I30 'base' struts and shocks
2) Ebay - which has so many options (KYB, Munroe, Tokico,

Also, do I need to replace the mounts? I'll spend whatever I need to get the ride I want so I'm not trying to go cheap.

I've always liked KYB for a good mid-ranged Strut / Shock, however, if money is not an option and you want something that's going to perform / ride the way you want, I would suggest looking at something like Koni.

You shouldn't have to replace the mounts and to be quite honest with you, I wouldn't worry too much about those rear springs either. The difference really isn't too noticeable, especially when you get a good shock in there.

First, you shouldn't have to replace your mounts at this point and I wouldn't replace your rear springs either. The rear springs really won't make "that" much of a difference, depending on the quality of the shocks.

Personally, I've always used KYB struts / shocks in the past (on my DSM's), but on my Infiniti I tend to spend a little more. If money is not an issue, I would actually recommend that you go with a Koni strut / shock. They make an awesome product and I have "never" had a complaint. These are just my personal experiences.
