How does the Infiniti QX56 do on gas?

I am looking for an SUV in the 20-33k range. Few years old, around 20-40k miles. I really like the QX56 because it is very high up and I like that. But I just wanted to know if it guzzles gas. I really love the car though. I want to buy and SUV and I want luxury and I am willing to pay whatever I need to pay but you get to a point where 9 MPG is just not good enough (cough HUMMER cough). I know this car does better than that.

I mean, is it worth it? It is a great car. Let me also ask you guys this. Are there other SUVS (tall, long ones like this and the Hummer) that cost less, have better gas, and are more luxurious or is this the one I am looking for?

MPG is satisfactory

I average about 17-18 mpg for a daily usage fwy surface streets combined. On long trips I get about 19-20mpg doing about 80mph on the fwy, but if you can do 70mph I've seen it jump to about 24mpg.

I like my QX56 very much, I need to use all 3 rows so it can be tight on space. I also have a Chevy Suburban and I get about 14mpg on average but I have the space I need in the cargo area with all 3 rows occupied when making trips to Costco.

daily driver is around 15-16 mpg. highway bumps it up to 19-20. Huge gas tank (28 gal) means your not stopping all that much, but when you do expect to pay. Range is around 400 miles. Recommends premium too, but you can use regular.

just purchased a 06 for a heck of great deal, was a bit concerned about gas after the fact. However i get about 400miles per fill up on the hwy. Thats averaging 60-75mph. HOPE THIS HELPS
