First, let me say that this is our 5th Infiniti we have leased over the past 8 years or so, and 2nd QX56.
We have loved the brand, and the vehicles until now. Some of the other vehicles have had some minor electrical issues, but now we have had serious issues with no apparent recourse.
In February my wife's QX56 started having an issue where the gears seemed to disengage (which simulated stalling but the engine still ran) It was towed in, and was said to be repaired. Over the past few months, we had noticed a slight "grinding" noise which got so severe suddenly as to warrant it again being towed in. It was in the service department for 4 weeks awaiting parts from Japan, and when they finally arrived, we were then told it was fixed. It apparently was something with a "fuel jet", and we were told that Infiniti had recently issued a bulletin to its dealers about it. The service manager told us that he personally drove it several miles and that we were good to go.
We went to pick up the vehicle the next day, and didn't even drive off the lot before it started to shake and the gears disengaged. We took it back and they ran the codes which revealed a "multi-cylinder mis-fire"They again "fixed" it and we are now told that it was a faulty solenoid, but I am hesitant to trust them, despite being told that it has been test driven again.
I called the national customer service line (an oxymoron) and initiated a request for a repurchase.
We were informed today that the request has been denied, with no explanation or further recourse. I am hesitant to put my family in a vehicle which could effectively "stall" at any time, particularly, because they have apparently fixed it several times.
Suffice it to say, I am extremely frustrated and am now completely done with Infiniti. It is a shame because this QX 56 has less than a year left on the lease and as mentioned, I have up until now been very happy with the vehicles we have had.
Buyer beware !!!

Interesting first post. Sorry to hear of your troubles...and welcome to the board!

grind?

Hmmmm, When I hear a grind, I think of universal joints going bad, or a wheel bearing, or possibly a auto-locking hub not unlocking.
Is yours four-wheel drive ?
Fuel jet? What the hell is that? You have 'Fuel injection', no carburetor. maybe they meant 'Jet Fuel'? I have heard of that, but wouldn't put it in my QX:rolleyes:

I would ask them what they really fixed and get a detailed description. I have a 2011 model, and its been bullet-proof. The Battery likes the trickle charger but no issues. I just changed the oil in mine yesterday and it is super easy to service.
Hate to hear you are having a bad time with your QX, I wouldn't trade mine for two 'Tahoes & a Escapade' :D (yeah I know I misspelled escalade)

have a good one,
Parrott
2011 QX56 Black on Black 20 inch wheels and New Air Filter
(Saving my pennies for a new Magnaflow exhaust like Marc has)

We have a 2012 and while it has had 2 specific issues (a bad battery that needed to be towed in over 400kms to the nearest dealer and issues with the PCM).

Other than those, it's been flawless. I love the ride and the looks it gets. I usually get one or two comments from people at gas stations when filling up. Speaking of filling up, this thing is thirsty. My only major gripe.

As for your issue, sounds like you may need to get to another dealer for diagnosis as this current one is out to lunch.

"buyer beware" is a bit dramatic. you state you are an inifiniti user across several models but now all of a sudden you are a turncoat and want to diss the infiniti name. :p

i have seen these disgruntled posts before from q owners and armada owners, and this post right here proves my point that people only really post to complain, as opposed to praise, and then people start to think there is a widespread problem with a mass produced vehicle.

clearly many people on this site have not experienced those issues, but it is 100% likely that you, op, are not the only person in the world with these issues on the Q. again its mass produced and there will be faulty production models from time to time.

you mention this is a lease, but are you the original lessee? how many miles had you driven the car before these issues cropped up? there are some '11 owners here who have not had any issues.

it is unfortunate you are having issues, and I do hope they get resolved, but there is really no need to try and cast a bad light on the car maker.

your frustrations are definitely understood, make no mistake... :o:

I agree with Marc... how the heck can u say "completely done" and "buyer beware" when you've had the best of luck with these cars/trucks until just now. It's one bad apple, doesn't mean the whole lot is rotten. And yes.. forums are where people come for a little tech help/advise or to just complain... never the praise, unless someone asks for "likes".

Try another dealer, if there are others in your general area.

Seems like more of a dealer problem than a vehicle problem. Take it to someone who knows how to properly diagnose and repair.

Parting out infiniti M35

Really, for your first post? Let's see where you went wrong.

  • Wrong Forum
  • Inside someone else's post that is completely unrelated
  • Posting about parting out a vehicle without describing any details on the vehicle. Not only is the color, interior colors, options important but describing how you obtained the vehicle is also important. No one wants to buy parts from a P.O.S. thief.
