Has Anyone Installed a Rear Bumper Protector?

I bought one of these several years ago when I first got my QX56. I ended up putting clearbra over my rear bumper but am thinking now I will remove the clearbra and install this rear bumper cover (attached picture).

It has 3M tape already on it but am thinking I will buy some more of the really heavy duty 3M tape just to be sure and make it stick.

Has anyone done one of these installs? I just don't want it to come loose and fly off while I'm driving.

yeah my car came with it from the factory. the tape in the box is plenty sturdy. use alcohol wipes to clean the surface area before applying. let it sit 30 hours without sliding groceries, etc over it so it can cure to the car.

Thicker tape may lend the guard to not sit flush at the edges and appear higher on the bumper.
 
After 2-3 years of sitting in my garage, which can get fairly hot in the summer and fairly cold in the winter, do you think the tape still has enough strength to securely adhere to the bumper? I haven't taken the masking off so it's still in brand new condition but I'm worried about the tape still having enough strength.

thousands of people have this trim option on many nissan products. i have had mine on since day one (2.5 years) and no issues. i was in atlanta and now am in LA.

follow the directions in the package and you will be fine.
 
I would use heat gun, or your wife's hair dryer to heat the tape before applying the cover and worm up the bumper too. It will stick really good.

Yeah I don't know about the heat gun route. Clean it with the alcohol Like the instructions say. Tape is good, but I was worried about moisture getting in under the stainless steel. I used black RTV, the gasket material silicon, and run a small bead along the edge of the down side of the protector.
Rock solid ! I bet that bumper will come of the vehicle before that small protector comes off the top of the bumper. :D
Small bead of RTV, you don't want to raise it up off the bumper.

Careful with the heat gun, you don't want to deform/warp that plastic bumper, with precise heat focused on a small area.
