Gummed up volume control on steering wheel

Anyone know:
1. How to remove the trim from the radio controls? See picture. Seems like it might pop off by pulling from the edges.
2. Any ideas on how to clean up the volume switch? Very gummed up and sluggish though still works.

You could try a electronics cleaner in a spray can. It has a brush on the spray tip that helps clean. We used it in a bar on a credit card swipe machine that some idiot spilled a glass of coke on. All the buttons were sticky and wouldn't press in. It fixed it.. You can probably buy it online for a few bucks...

get he service manual and it will tell you.

it involves remived the trannu shiftet and all that stuff, plus the side finisher leather stuff that runs down the sides of the radio unit.
