Hey everyone,
I made sure to do some research before posting this and I wasn't able to find anything. New to the Infiniti world and bought my first drift car the other week (07 G35 Sedan 6MT HR). The ECM has water damage and obviously needs to be replaced. I've never had to deal with replacing an ECM before and I want to make sure I get the right one. I have found a couple ECMs for sale that look exactly like mine but numbers are different. Considering how I haven't found a single ECM with the exact numbers, I'm going to assume that the numbers will vary on every ECM that's compatible with my car but some of them may be the same as I've found a few that have "MEC100" on it. My ECM has these characters:
JT MEC100-050 F1 6922
With that said, the questions I have are:
1. How do I know the right ECM when I find it?
2. Am I right in assuming I need an ECM that contains "MEC100" in the part number?
3. Are there any numbers/characters that should match up for the new ECM?
4. What does the "JT" mean and does it have any relevance to the ECM I need to buy?
5. Feels like a stupid one but I could be wrong; does it matter if the ECM came out of a manual or auto car?
6. Since it came out of an HR car, I'm assuming that I need to find one that is also for an HR right?
I apologize if this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find anything related to my situation. Any advice/help is appreciated!
Thank you,
Riley
