Hi,

I just bought a 2011 QX56 that has all available packages. I'm trying to customize some of the settings under "Driver Assistance": there should be 2 choices under it, "Dynamic Assistance Settings" and "Driver Assistance Warnings".

For some reason, only the "Dynamic" option appears and not the "Warnings" one. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen. I've read and reread the manual and have searched online but have found nothing.

Thanks.

I have the same issue...any update/resolution?

early models were setup differently from the factory.

for example, the 2011s (qx) had a rotary switch to align the headlamps--later models removed this and the lamps adjusted automatically.

daronk, do you have a 2011? do you have the auto headlamp system or the rotary switch?

I have a 2011 with all the packages. Headlamps are the ones that move l/r with the steering wheel. No manual wheel for load leveling...they are auto.

I remembered having more options under driver assistance. Non-Infiniti dealer that I purchased it used from replaced a steering cog. After none of the tech options worked. They then said they recalibrated stuff and all works but my options on the settings/driver assistance menu is only the settings with only distance control assist and lane departure prevention showing. There should be a "warnings" page but it's not there.

Owner's Manual has Driver Assistance Warnings menu per p5-32.

Yea i have a 2012 loaded and understand what you are looking for.

Curious, whats your current navigation map update?

Replacing a cog in the wheel should not have messed anything. If that shop you purchased from had access to nissans consult tool, they could have manipulated some system settings, but I highly doubt they know anything about that.

All you have to do, is get you vin, contact a local infiniti dealer. Ask them to tell you what the car is supposed to have in terms of features.

If you have a scanner, connect it to the obd port and see if any codes are present.

Look under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. You should see a button to disable one of the breaking assist (nanny) features.

It has the tech package...it's more about the menu options on the display to support them.

Looks to be original (assuming number = release date) but not sure that would change menus. Map Version : 20091013

There is Unit ID: 66 Front Display Software: 0F

Infiniti told me that the menu system is part of the firmware for each unit and is specific to that vehicle's build options and can't change. Not sure how valid that is...

So when you press settings and go to Driver Assistance on the screen what are your choices?

my point is that mid way through the 2011 model year infiniti changed the software and some features for the 2012+ models.

in the audio section, there's Drivers center stage (or something similar) and in later models its Bose something something, which is how the audio sounds at the driver's position. the 2011 had one version and the 2012 +had another. I think its Bose centerpoint, so check in your audio section and see what's there. the 2012 + models have 15 speakers, whereas the 2011 has 13.

then there's that button under the dash about the brake assist (did you check under your dash, to the right of the steering column if you have that button?)

in the menu I have (going off memory) a screen with all the driver assist settings. i cant recall all the listings but I can post a photo if you need me to.

the nav update sometimes adds some software updates to the voice assist feature and other little improvements "under the hood" (meaning some fixes the end user may not notice) which is why I asked.

infiniti is correct in that the software is specific to the car build, so its possible your VIN and work order may have put older software on your model car on the assembly line.

curious, what was your build date? you can find that on the drivers door where the VIN plate is.

Holy hidden buttons batman....yes the IBA off is under the footwell next to the OBD port. What an afterthought. That should be a button in the left cluster with all the others.

build date : 1/11

exactly! ill take a photo of the driver assist settings in the car later today.

ill say your build date is older than mine. july 2012 was the build date i have.

do you have the washer jets for the headlamps? and you have the cut out in the lower grille for the FLIR/driver assist yes?

yes washer jets. Yes on distance sensor in grill.
It has theater, touring, and tech packages.
