When I turn into a driveway entry, there is a creaking noise from the driver side area. The struts (Tokico Illuminas) & associated parts are 2 years old, & the outer tie rod end is new this year, just did stab bar bushings, brakes & rotors. 115K miles on vehicle. The spring insulator is split on the bottom where it meets the strut housing. Don't think I hear the noise when car is stationary and I push on the fender. Thoughts?

My infiniti has kind of a squeaking noise coming from the passenger side and I believe it is because of the strut. I had a cv joint go bad and that sounded really eerie... I think the cv joint being bad on the passenger side may have cause the strut to go bad prematurely...

That being said I would think that your problem is the same (strut bad on the driver side). Do not quote me on this but it seems similar to my problem and I will so replace my strut soon to see if this takes care of the problem (will post results).

One more thing I would try bouncing the car up and down on that side if it squeaks it is probably a bad strut. One other note to add would be to put it on a lift and shake the front wheels down to see if you notice any play up and down left and right. If there is play there could be another worn part or something maybe.

Just some suggestions. Best of Luck!

Check the CV boot on that side to see if it is torn, if so that is the problem. The clicking/grinding sound will happen at low speeds while making a sharp turn.

Also while the car is off turn the steering wheel back and forth...if you hear a creeking sound from that side that is probably your lower ball joint. You can check the boot on the lower ball joint to see if it torn...replace it
