My wife and I just purchased a 2011 Qx56. I've experienced that the battery needs to be charged or replaced last weekend after setting for a few days. Took it today to have windows tinted. Went to pick up and it will not start. Everything works; radio, seats, windows, headlights, everything. Will not start! Tried jumper cables thinking possibly battery issue again, no luck.. Went and bought a battery and ran to house to get spare key. Neither worked. Fuse able link is ok and no fuses blown. Looking for ideas to keep from towing to Infiniti dealer. Only has 49k miles on it, so still under warranty according to nearest Infiniti dealer, just hope for simple resolution.
 
Does the LCD screen say anything? Check to make sure that it's securely in park and that the steering wheel isn't locked. It could be an issue with the BCM but it also could be something the tint installer did.
 
Screen doesn't say anything. It's securely in park and wheel is not locked. I asked man that tinted windows what all he did exactly. He said he was turning ignition switch on/off regularly to roll window up and down. I'm afraid he has put vehicle in an anti-theft mode. When everything is completely off, there is a read simple flashing with a key pictured within the red box. Thanks for suggestion
 
could be cam position sensor. could be starter solenoid.

check the battery charge

check for any DTCs at the obd port.

i ASSume when this issue occurs, the engine is not even trying to turn over correct? no ticking noise or none of that?

could also be the factory alarm begin defective and preventing the car from starting.

Turns out it was the computer, BCM? (Body control module)I work for a ford and dodge dealership and we call them PCM (power control module). But either way they have ordered one and hope to pick up from dealership tomorrow. Also like to add the roadside assistance and customer service from dealership have been great.

I've heard of a few of those failing mainly in 2011s...that's what I thought might have been your problem but I'm glad you got it fixed!!
 
the BCM, ipdm, and TCM are the big bosses on campus. they rarely fail but when these do fail, they can cripple the car.

Early on with mine I had a sensor go bad in mine. It was replaced with another faulty one (unbeknownst to Infiniti) which drained my battery.
Once it was replaced all was well.
You should check into that as well. I forget now what exactly it was but the problem was the sensor became defective and would cycle the lights/entry lights on and off repeatedly like you were coming into range with the fob until the battery drained.
Maybe a quick search on here can reveal what my issue was. It has been sometime ago now....
 
On the 2011, there is an on/off switch for the inverter electrical outlet located inside of the console compartment. If left 'on' it will drain the battery prematurely. The electrical outlet is located behind and at the back of the console.

I also learned on a recent long trip, this outlet will not power a household coffee maker. Designed only for small electrical devices. Thought I would be slick and bring my starbuck 'K' cup coffee along for the trip. (sad face)

i have to respectfully disagree,

i have this button on all the time. its certainly been on the past 2 years and the car sits for a couple days (it is my daily driver) sometimes without being started.

if this is indeed happening, you should get this diagnosed!! if the led lamp on the switch is OFF, the switch should be OFF!
